Not much smell, perhaps some peapod. Very intensely tasty. Very good indeed. Perfect aperitif or starter wine.

I keep meaning to order this from Waitrose but they only ever list the 2004.

It's a couple of quid cheaper that the Oddbins Henri Pelle which is excellent and could easily be taken for a top estate Sancerre in a blind tasting.

Would you say the same of the Clos De Ratier or does it have a flavour all of it's own.

I'm sure a lot of people could mistake this for Sancerre, and I'm not sure I'm above doing the same. Looking back, because I have tasted it a few times, the flavour is perhaps more tangy and tasty than elegant.

Since you are the expert on SB, I'd like to hear your opinion when you get a chance to taste it. They have it in store, so you don't have to buy 6 bottles.

I LOVE the Clos du Ratier. Fabulous minerally. honeyed stuff which costs ridiculously little and lasts beautifully for quite some years, too.

Now you see why I don't buy NZ Sauvignon :D
