Not sure what I was thinking, but decided to do a Baileys tasting. Will post the results on Friday but feel mildly nauseous after 7 of them. Baileys with a hint of coffee was actively pleasant, but the most disgusting, vile, horrible effort was from Waitrose, called Columba. Never, ever, have I tasted anything so vile. It's nearly white, clings to the glas and your mouth and is gaggy and chemical. Only in 7 branches and you can see why.

If anyone in your house likes Baileys - can't imagine any of you would - the coffee version is lovely - smells like espresso and tastes like black coffee.

We've been sipping the Tesco Finest clone over the last week or so, didnt rate it much, a bit thin on the cream and too hot.

Did this feature in your tasting Mel?

yes, 4th out of 7. It smelt initially of paint, but this lifted to give toasted coconut. Alex thought it tasted like melted coffee ice cream and I found some slightly burning aniseed flavour on the end.

Get him to try the coffee Baileys, although if he doesn't drink except B then he may be a different species from the rest of us.
