90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo and Colorino, hand-harvested from the defined Chianti Classico zone. A portion of Sangiovese is worked with cold soak pre-fermentation maceration. Wine undergoes the compulsory ageing in large oak "Botti". Winemaker ~ Andrea Cecchi. This wine is from the highly-regarded Cecchi family’s Estate who have been producing Chianti for Sainsbury's for over 25 years.
Some fruit on the nose, but not particularly forthcoming. Very woody, with liquorice. Needs some cheese. Impossible by itself, but could really improve with something savoury.
