2005 and 2006 were both exceptional vintages with excellent ripeness of the grapes leading to intense and concentrated wines.
Unusually for St Chinian, hand picked and carefully selected Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache grapes are fermented whole (carbonic maceration) in order to extract plenty of intense and juicy fruit with soft tannins. Post fermentation, the wine is given an extended period of maceration (20 days) without oak.

Located among the beautiful and dramatic scenery of the Haut Languedoc National Park, the Cave de Roquebrun lies at the heart of the St Chinian appellation, north of the town of Beziers Established in 1968, the Cave represents 110 members who farm over 500 hectares of vines planted mainly on south facing hillsides, producing Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Carignan, Roussanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc to make St Chinian, Coteaux de Languedoc and Vins de Pays Low yields and attention to detail in the cellar result in a range of outstanding red, white and rose

Perfumed and appealing smell. Bone dry and seems quite fierce. Needs steak.
