Made only from the producer's own grapes. The bunches are hand picked into 30Kg plastic cartons. The grapes are then put into a de-stemmer which separates the berries from the stems. The grapes undergo a cold maceration for 8 hours, and are then gently pressed, before being cold-settled.
The grape juice is fermented in stainless steel vats at a temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC. No malolactic fermentation.
Lees treatment: Skin contact is for just 8 hours, before the lees are taken off. No oak.

Located in Almeirim, on the banks of the river Tagus, the Falua winery is owned by J Portugal Ramos, one of Portugal's leading winemakers, and consultant to over 20 wineries over the years. Built in 2002 specifically react to the growth in export potential for Portuguese wines, the Falua winery is one of the most modern and up-to-date in Portugal. Tagus Creek has been developed to appeal to the UK market consumer, and combines well known International grape varieties with lesser known Portuguese ones.

Little on the nose. Dry and with warmish alcohol. Quite an interesting aftertaste.
