Quite a simple, Ribena smell. Minty, Ribena taste. Good balance. Sweeter and fruitier than I remember.

The '05 is now on offer at £5.49, I was tempted 'till I noticed the alc content had gone up to 14.5% :?

This used to be a restrained, earthy Cab Sav with plenty of character, mint, dark chocolate, coffee, a touch medicinal, perfectly balanced, a genuine bargain (2002 I think). It now appears to have become another typical Ausi fruit-bomb. Shame.

BTW- I went into Sainsburys to check out their 'wine festival', boring!

How much Oyster Bay & Wolf Bland can one small Island drink?

Don't think it's the alcohol so much - the wonderful 2002 that got this wine its reputation was 14%. Still, that was a very cool year. I do wonder tho about the sourcing of the fruit by Katnook, as I wasn't so impressed with the last vintage I had either.
