Claret - Right Oh,
It is safe to buy this claret in a box of 6 and get the 25% off. No one who drinks red is going to complain. Easy drinking already, gentle, but lovely smell fills the nostrils
2009 Left bank medoc. 50% merlot, 45% Cab, 5% PV. PV adds more colour. Not that it needed the extra magenta, cos '09 as everyone knows, is ripe dark skins.
14% Alc is modern in this respect, and velvety feel, so modern winemaking as well. Investment by Sichel they say, posh label iwith gold
Château ink. Sweet dark fruit, 36 hectare property, proprietor Monsieur Lamoliere.
Yeah, the 1st one I opened was a bit soft (for me) - damn, I thought. The next two bottles were pretty good. Serve properly, Alc does not lead, cos enough good substance there. Decant the wine and splosh about, then pour back in the bottle if serving to folks at the table.
Very good with roast birds, rich and hedge row flavoured wild blackberry and damson (french merlot) some earthy gravely notes (graves type), some tobacco & cedar with well judged oak at this stage. Will keep for 4 years or so, and puts on weight and complexity over 2 days.
Nice claret - good for £9.00, collect box from M &S and delivery is FOC. If you see this in the new year sales, well, you certainly wont be disappointed if you grab some.

Are there any half decent '09 clarets that I don't like ?
