Tesco Mâcon Blanc Villages 2011 £4.99
Cave Vignerons Des Grandes Vignes
The turquoise screwcap on this jars for me. Flabby nose. Dry white wine.

Finest* Chablis Grand Cuvée 2011 £9.99
Union Des Viticulteurs De Chablis
A hint of creaminess on the nose. It's dry white wine and the flavour lasts pretty well.

Low on aroma, with perhaps a hint of peach. Lacking acidity. Flabby and not very pleasant.

Light aroma, with some elder. Tangy, pithy and linear. Mineral aftertaste. Good.

Finest* Alsace Riesling 2011 £7.99
Cave de Turckheim
Almost no aroma. Just off dry and with tangy acidity. Not much riesling character. I might have thought this was sauvignon.

The Sancerre 2011 is light and unrecognisable as Sancerre/PF/Menetou Salon. The 2010 Pouilly Fume is dry, lightly acidic with a strong blackcurrant bud taste but has no minerality on the finish and so, is just a glorified Touraine. Poor value at the currant £11 and I wouldn't buy it even with 25% off that as Touraine even at it's best is not my thing.

I think you've been too kind to the Sancerre but the PF could be worth a star if you love Touraine and can't find a good one. At £11 though it would be an expensive replacement.

I still love you anyway.....
