Smells stalkily herbal, as you'd expect for Cab Franc. Also ripe blackcurrant and some oak. Very dry in the mouth and quite tannic. Absolutely must have food with this one. Illustrates why Tannat is called Tannat.

This is a fiver on the website. I had a case. Very austere, tho obviously quite a serious wine for a fiver (think something like mature Bordeaux with a rustic twang). I'm glad I got it, but it's not a wine which is easy to love.
