Winemaker and winery: Nicolas Bizzarri, Vina Luis Felipe Edwards.
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon.
Region: Colchagua Valley, Chile.
Viticulture/Vinification: The vintage for our Cabernet Sauvignon started in April. The grapes were hand picked at optimum ripeness, the grapes were healthy and with great acidity. Up to that point we had no rain which made it a calm harvest. After the destemming and crushing procedures, the juice was inoculated with selected yeast and the fermentation carried out between 26-28°C in stainless steel tanks. This wine has no maceration, with careful and soft extraction criteria in order to make it soft and easy to drink. The final blend is stabilized, filtered and bottled.
Availability: In-store now
13% vol.

Dark, inky colour. Quite a raw, stalky smell. Not a bad taste. Very Cabernet, with coffee-flavoured tannins. OK and very fair price.

I bought a bottle of this back in March when you put the draft of these TNs in a post. I passed on the Vinalta Malbec because it was unoaked only to find this and the Gaston Ve Deau Merlot were also.

I am still without most of my reds, but this was in one of the boxes I had transferred so I thought I'd give it a try tonight.

The Cabernet structure makes up for any lack of oak. Typical Cabernet and particularly Chilean. Quite good for the price. Not quite as good as the Vistasur in the same price range, but a viable alternative.
