(only at Waitrose Direct and 20 branches – damn). Pruney aroma. This is 20%vol and the spirit is on the nose. God, it is fantastic. The flavour is near perfect. It’s salty, yeasty and with sweet caramel. Impossible to describe. Just buy some.

Shall we designate a Star then ? This Oloroso is £4 less here in Waitrose than the '89's were in merchants.

I'm always trying to work out how to keep these old'uns fresh for 3 months after opening.

Shall I take a gamble this year - or do I enjoy a secret half glass before retiring to bed for several weeks after Christmas :wink:
