Not sure what this costs as bought on 25% off. Lovely. Deep, dark colour. Excellent warm Merlot nose - some vanilla, some christmas cake. Smooth, rounded, spicy - almost a hint of bitterness, but the last thing I ate was a piece of shortbread. Just lovely. Spicy and interesting. Pretty big, but not hot. Should be good with cumberland sausages which are just going under the grill.

The Lidl Barbera was £4.99 by the way.

Waiting for the promised snow, but hoping it's misdiagnosed as desperate to get rid of the kids tomorrow. Am sick of the sight of them, during the day. I need daytime SILENCE.

Very quiet around here, the noise from motor vans, even half a mile away in the town is quite absent - I like it. Parents pulling kids on sledges round here.....Tis good, dont want the thaw quite yet, nor any gritting, the parents like the middle of the avenue best.

The Concha Merlot is one I've been watching for some time now, its £9 in my local Sains, have been waiting for it to be reduced.

I recall the alc being 14.5%, cant remember the vintage though. No problem with the balance then Mel?

No, very good balance. Def a new world wine, but not hot. Yes, the label says 14.5%
