Howsabout old english spangles?
Cheers for the Bridge info.
As for those wretched spangles, I hated them as a kid, truly disgusting.
I was unusual in the 50's as a kid, I had a savoury tooth. Yeah, before all those horrendous E numbers. Foul sticky muck, and particularly the pinnacle of gunk, - the candyfloss. enough to cause me to wretch. The smell of that pink was rank.
My Dad's garden was full of friut trees, conference pear, newton wonder, and Cox apples, blackcurrent bushes and Gooseberries. Those were the fruits that I gorged myself on after school each day. In the Autumn we had chestnuts and a large hazle tree nut tree in the garden.
I was a very lucky lad.
There you have it Ba. Please don't talk about boiled sweets
