This is a lovely Rioja, it is a Mel's Quaffers' Choice wine, and it is also on Offer just now.
This is what she said in the Sainsburys May 2015 articles:
"New vintage, available now, 527 stores, exclusive, natural cork 13.5%
Lovely aroma – almost like tropical fruit. Really alive on the palate. Bright, with excitement, plenty of baked fruity and good length. Buy this one
". See Label pic in the current articles.

Mel is spot on with this.

This wine is beautifully balanced, fruity, refreshing and a joy for the price. The wine is £7.50 at the moment, and for Sunday 2nd August, today is the last day you could buy 6 of these for £5.62 a bottle.

What I like about this wine is the correctly judged oak when added to that old vine fruit, 100% tempranillo, so remarkably fresh straight from the newly open bottle.
The flavour profile is already displaying hints of that wild strawberry fruit that I crave in an elegant rioja that has been properly aged and cellared for many years. Who knows, this could be wonderful from 2019 onwards. It is however most pleasurable now.

This Rioja is the antidote to those heavy oaky and over dark, over extracted styles.
I do like this wine, it is also most enjoyable at a couple of degrees less than normal serving temperature, a great candidate for a patio supper. Yum. . .

No, the fruit in this wine fades rather quickly after 3 days open but sealed on a cool quarry tile floor in a dark pantry.
Therefore, drink up within 18 months or so from purchase.
