Mr G ....This is the La Grille sauvignon blanc, is this it ?

La Grille Paul Buisse SB also £6.49 at Maj

I know a few folks, not personally, from blogs, who said that the Paul Buisse '09 was good for the price, Cant remember hearing or reading anything about the '10.

The La Grille brand is supposed to give decent regional Loire co-op (Vin de Pays du Val) Loire quality.

Clearly - not to your palate, or, is it a flawed bottle.

3 Yuks is a pretty strong condemnation

No, it's not Buisse. I'm not a fan of that but it's not a bad wine. Waitrose used to sell a Henri Bourgeois Loire sb under the La Grille label and it was a gorgeous wine with blackcurrant and a hint of acorn. Petit Sancerre style.

This is a Franck Chatalain Touraine and not a VdP Loire. It's very bitter and acidic. One of the worst sb's i've had.

Mel was kinder but did say that it was bitter.

There's a link to Birds with Bottle on the La Grille website.
