I often find Southern French white blends quite full-on and rich, perhaps better with food and occasionally difficult to like on their own- the premium wines may offer more subtlety. This white is delicate and certainly more approachable, perhaps the 30% Clairette lends a touch of finesse. Ripe red apple and gentle lime flavours divert your attention from the slightly hollow finish but overall a pleasant glass to enjoy on its own.
A wine for the summer we nearly had.
