On offer at the mo is the 2008 at my store - £2 discount.
It has matured fairly quickly. Better when chambre'd, and very reasonable the next day for the offer price.
Starts off a little fruit shy, Parker gives this 2008 vintage a 89-90 allegedly ! I don't think so, the 2009 will be fuller and more fruit favourable. If you find them (the '09s) mixed up on the shelf plum for them. Tastes 85% merlot 15% cab franc or there-abouts - good merly vanilla flavour, the cab franc a bit green, but typical.
Would be good with roast beef and york pudding with loads o' peppery gravey. Save yourself a fortune against named clarets for the meal. Good standard, some sediment, finish is short, but with this sort of lunch / dinner - doesn't matter.
