Le Prieure' Vinsobres 2009. Part of a mixed Rhone case from Laithwaites / Sunday Times WC - Customers can choose if ordering over the phone, not available online. However these Spring cases are now discontinued :( I obtained free delivery also.

Jolly good wine, very concentrated, deep magenta, quite authentic tasting, yet, positively no drying in the mouth, rich mid palate, good legs, but not quite so much nose as you may expect. May develop more, say - to end 2015. 14% ALC

The best Vinsobres I've ever had, but one should know that this cru was only awarded in 2006, so it is early days for producers to really pull out all the stops. I was suprised how concentrated this wine was, and is best decanted to enhance the garrique shrub and hot stones peppery bits that you want. Grenache 65% and Syrah.

Good wine and for me, well worth the extra £2 over the usual Waitrose / Sains CdR offers. The Cave Prieure' is now owned by Cellier Dauphins, but I dont think that ownership detracts from the authenticity of this smaller 'home spun' appeal of this CdR.

Lets hope we get some barbecue, patio dining evenings - absolutely perfect for that sort of gastronomic fun.
This is a southern rhone lovers wine, so *** from me
