Highly concentrated wine with no oak or prolonged skin contact but is ripe and medium to full bodied with complex flavours. Obviously MSB but the flavour is not the blackcurrant of Wairau or the tomato leaf of the Awatere. Most tasters go for grapefruit but I don't get that either.

Serve barely chilled to be at it's most pungent. Worthy of a star if you like the flavour but it just falls short for me. Becomes quite flinty as it warms. Hard to believe that there is no oak here.

Warmer still and the flint is replaced by capsicum. This is very complex.

A classier wine by far than The Ned but The Ned is more my thing.

Goose, I completely understand your take on this.

An analogy......which is deliberately... a bit grossed-up

I've regularly enjoyed a pint of London Pride. Then someone turns up with a large bottle of Bishop's scrotum, and says, Dunc, you gotta give this a go ! No - sorry, it aint thirst quenching ! And it is way out of balance, when compared to with a 1st class pint of bitter that is alive. To be fair though, for me, you can't get a proper pint out of a can, or a bottle. But then again, a quality pub pint, it is a completely different drink.

Duh - Poor analogy

I've lined-up another Ned'11 for Friday, my Misses will be pleased. I'm looking forward to an Eleven MSB that is just proper - not asking for any more than that - The Ned will be fine.

Edited
The line up for Friday has changed
