10% oak. Some typical MSB flavours stops this from being as austere and pointless as the Brancott Estate Reserve ( Montana/Kaituna Hills ) but it does try to be austere and pointless.

Imagine a part oaked Saint Clair.

Upon drinking this though I have at least come to the conclusion that I prefer oak to excessive sweetness.

That 'conclusion' raised a chuckle here. I completely concur. That trendy sweetness for Joe Public is sweeping thru the producers like a dose of phylloxera - maybe it's designed into the yeast compounds and high tech additives ?
It's smart alright - BUT - It doesn't taste quite the same as super ripe fruit !
