NW Spain - often has a touch of peach on the nose, but is bright in the mouth with often lowish alc at 11.5 and a little fizz. If you look on a map, Rias Baixas where it's made is very close to Vinho Verde and they use the same grape, with a v in the Portuguese.
Sat at a tasting on Thurs night and drank water but the consensus was that the Martin Codax Alb wasn't very impressive.
Have tried a mouthful of wine every night this week and all have ended in the sink. At the farmers' market this morning there was some Bacchus from near Malmesbury - 2006 vintage - and it was less toxic than other attempts. Going to lovely 50th tonight, so will try again. Hair loss, who cares, but no wine is a real bummer.
