On offer and very acceptable. Two distinct tastes and even some apricots sneaking around. Not delicate, not great, but for a fiver d**n good.

So what's your favourite sub £5 wine ever. Mine was a £3.49 Vin du Pays des Sables Rose Gris ( grenache - syrah - carignan - ) 2006 from Lidl.

It came in a Provence shaped bottle and was very pale and gorgeous. It had none of the white pepper that often spoils even the most expensive of Provence rose and had a deep deep dry strawberry taste.

There was a time when I could live for a week on £5. Gauloises 30p, du vin du pain etc. Recently best <£5? Good question, needs thought.
