The blend can change dramatically from year to year. This 2007 is 33% Chardonnay, 31% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Weisser Riesling, 6% Pinot Blanc, 2% Chenin Blanc and 2% Semillon.
The nose is very floral and the palate backs this up with Chardonnay and then Riesling to the fore, with a long zesty finish.
Quite pleasant at first but I found myself over chilling it to get a more refreshing Riesling/green only flavour. A bargain at Majestic’s price but this is most definitely a summer aperitif wine rather than a serious food wine, which is what the makers are attempting to achieve so fair enough. Well chilled it should however make a good accompaniment to Asian foods.
