I have decided to only post tasting notes for wines worthy of either a star or a yuk.

This wine is bone dry and very pale. The flavour is subtle ( dry wild strawberry ) but the wine is quite rich.

Typical Provence but it's a Vin de Pays D'oc wine

Hey Goose, I came here because you guys were ?$#?%! . Do we want to talk about wine only - Nah

Hey, we ought to exchange emails about the best stuff. Then some of these 1500 members might start making an effort

" Verdant, gooseberryish, zesty and fresh " wrote Jane Mcquitty of The Sunday Times about yet another dull sauvignon blanc for the 5 millionth time before being shot dead by Goosegogs of Quaffers Offers.

At least that's how it goes in my dreams but alas not so in waking life. On and on she bangs about verdant, zesty gooseberries.

How can a £3 Chilean taste the same as a £15 Sancerre or a £4 Australian taste like £12 Marlborough but in her world they do and it's about as helpful as a poke in the eye with a bottle of Blossom Hill.

Tasting notes are only helpful if they single out great wines or awful ones.

So that's what i'll try and do.

I’m on the cider this weekend, homebrew made last autumn.

I opened a bottle last night, a touch too dry for my liking but overall very good indeed. Made with apples from a local tree, not sure what the variety is but they make a lovely cider. I added a dash of apple juice to sweeten, this was the missing link, I now have balance.
