This wine peaked at Christmas 2007 in my opinion...But no matter.
It is part of a distress parcel for the market in France, but for the money it is a decent bottle of mature Medoc Cru Bourgeois with a nice opening gambit and smooth tannins. Good concentration, even though 2002 was an inconsistent vintage. Merlot dominated per pro Medoc, but with Cab notes, not enough cab in the mix for my palate and just a tiny bit muddy. But there is spice in the middle palate and fullness and no drying-out yet. All together good, when measured against a lot of skinny tat claret out there for £7.99
Drink Summer 2009, and for the dosh it will grace your table and no one will know it was only £8 quid. A nice parcel on offer to Majestic customers, with a classic Medoc label, the lead foil has a french top and detail about the cuvee and terroir on the back is in french.
