Good price for a decent wine. Full bodied and a 2003 vintage. Nicely balanced, intitially soft and gently sweet, yet dry on the mid palate, without it being unpleasant. fruit still comes through with a good finish to it. Hints of liquorice on the nose and tongue. Fuller taste develops as it opens out, good legs. get it before it goes up in price. A fairly recent edition (3 weeks) to Asda range, so its at a promotional price. Stylish black and gold label, 13% alcohol.
In a recent blind tasting the 2003 vintage for Chianti/Tuscany was said to be generally “highly structured wine with great potential for ageing.” Enjoy
