Waitrose, £6.99

From site-
‘Excellent southern French red made from Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. This historic estate is one of the pioneers of organic grape growing in southern France, and is certified by Ecocert. Its supple yet spicy fruit character matches roasts, chargrills, casseroles, pasta or Mediterranean dishes.’

I picked this up last month in the ‘French Wine Showcase’ promo, £5.49 me thinks.
What a stunner, dense, rich fruit buoyed up by a lovely streak of acidity, white pepper and roasted spice flavours. A weighty wine that can be enjoyed alone. I opened it Friday night and it was still going strong when I poured the last glass before Sunday lunch.
One of the best Sth French reds I have ever tasted.
