It does today, and it did last Friday 26/03/10 along with The Ned pinot

However Mr P, this has been a year (so far) of price rotation, multi disco, 5 day offers, launch specials, fillips and inducements.

The original thread was squeezed into November '09, so........prob a launch special.

If someone wants to put the whole price gambit and all the contrived machinations on a power point data base with pretty pictures  ....... Scrabbled brains anyone ?

Did somebody say zombie???

Image

finally got round to drinking my bottle this weekend, though only really had the one glass as it was shared with family

Not bad.
Definately not to Goose's taste as it lacked the blackcurrant, capsicum, flinty, minerality notes he so dearly loves.
Instead this is more rich and fruit driven. Not quite sweet but tropical notes are certainly there.
Lacks some finesse but isn't bad for a sunshine glugger
Not worth a tenner but fine for 6-7 quid

I'm with Shezza on this.

I too opened a bottle of this last week. It lasted several days as I tend not to glug white. It reminded me of the Kaituna Hills MSB from M&S, 'cept without the creme anglaise and with more fruit intensity on day 1. The fruit didn't come through until after several days with the Kaituna. With the Ned it was stronger (a hint of Goose's Saint Clair passion and gooseberry fruit) at first but was much less apparent after 48 hours. Of the two I think I preferred the Kaituna but it is very close and the Ned is a very decent wine especially at the WR offer price.

I noticed 2 bottles of the Kaituna in my local M&S priced at £8.99. I paid £4.50 (on combined offer) for mine around a month ago  No sign of the K reserve though, or the Craggy Te muna. I wonder if the M&S buying team kept them all for themselves

Still good, even at double-figure temps. Soon to be on offer again.

Hi,

Long time lurker finally putting my head above the parapet.

Just for info - The Ned is back at £5.99 but only until tomorrow (19th July). Still drinking very nicely as of...well 20 minutes ago when I opened my last bottle of it.

Only thing I'm not sure of myself is how many to get this time as I would tend to drink stuff like this during the Summer months only - am I right in thinking that this is likely to be not as good if held over until next Summer?

Greetings and salutations to all. I'll try posting a bit in future rather than just reading. Be gentle though, I'm very much a wine newbie with simple tastes and shallow pockets - think of me as a value seeker, which I guess hopefully matches the ethos of the site.

Aeres

Ps. Thanks Mel for getting my account set up - sorry if I was a pain!

Hello Aeres, welcome to Quaffers. Be careful out there though. Some of the posters here drink red wine and oaked chardonnay.

Whether it will keep or not is that great alchemic question. I love this, but have yet to try the '09 Vav. The '08 Vav has been my favourite to date. Welcome, fear not, have your penny's worth. Have the glaciers receded from there yet?
