what's the funny burnt rubbery taste ? Pinotage ?
Not my bag baby !!
I tasted twice in Store and didn't detect Kwickfit, the mix was confusing. I bought 4, all were drunk outside in warm August. 2 at our barbeque and 2 others around at my cousins in the garden with another Barby.
I cant remember if burnt rubber or not. The wine had a smokey and fruity note indoors. Shezza, I have not drunk this at dinner or at home on my own. So not scrutinised . Was it the cab & merlot dominated 2006 with a twist ? It was full and very easy and undry.
Some Rhones can have a rubbery whiff, as for the pinotage, I drunk some mature stuff decades ago on the SA CWV label, probably long gone now. Pinnotage, not one of my faves as a monopole at all, but the Klien Constantia version was interesting and more sweety / pinot-noir like. Many people say when young that they detect barbeque marshmellows on young pinotage. Others say that Pinotage can be detected in the mix, even if very small %.
V. Sorry that your £3.99 went AWAL. Pinotage is def not your bag - Glad that you didn't spend more to find out - Eh !
