Sold at Majestic Wine - Waitrose - Tesco online.

All three have the wine on offer for £6.99.

Smells beautifully of blackcurrant leaf....more to follow about midnight.

Perfect example of a JE. Back to it's very best. Sharp but not too sharp blackcurrant leaf and a gorgeous aftertaste of green capsicum.

Nothing oaky or stalky at all.

Another year and this will taste just like the 07.

Trust me...I know.

Ah yes, 7 hours later, and the smoke signal from the Vatican can be seen.

To give an opinion at 11am on a Sunday morning in a drafty Majestic while staff were loading the vans- Glad.. phew - We heartily agree.

I would say (from memory now) that the middle palate is not quite so ripe, and I like the pin stripe sophistication, from fewer tropical notes.

The '08 and the '07 are slightly different when younger, well, to my dodgy palate - With bottle age, I bow to your experience

No, just blackcurrant leaf and capsicum. I fuffing hate asparagus.

The South Africans can keep their compost heap sauvignons.

I wasn't going to bother with the 08 but now I won't be bothering with any other wine until the 08 disappears.

And just £6.99

Tidy

<breaths easy, now safe in the knowledge that Goose wont be coming after me>

haven't you still got a gazillion bottles of JE 07 to work your way through ?

Think the Maj offer ends at the end of the month so I think I will be looking to aquire a case of the 08 before then

I do and I shall force myself to drink them and I may even force myself to enjoy them too. I just meant I shan't be buying anything other than JE 08 from now on.

Apart from the odd Sancerre and Pouilly Fume and maybe some Peter Lehmann semillon.

And some Chablis now and then.

And i'll be taking the Saint Chinion rose back and swapping it for some rose that isn't turning to sherry.

And I do like a nice Lindauer Special Reserve bubbly now and then.

And some beer.
