3 bottle price.

Rich, syrupy and slightly musty....not unlike a poor Sancerre rose that is rich but lacks any minerality.

Label says dry but my tastebuds say a tad sweet as it has a cloying finish.

The wine is Italian and is definitely the driest Merlot rose i've had outside of Bordeaux where they specialize in this sort of thing.

I picked up a couple of bottles of the Villa Maria Private Bin Riesling '06 on the way home last night. It worked out at £5.40 a bottle.

Not a bad price for a lovely NZ Riesling, I might go back for some more.

NZ riesling is too sweet and full bodied for me.

I like my riesling like I like my sb.....dry, light bodied with intense flavour.

I am such a wooss.

You are, actually. I was at a great tasting of Platter 4.5 and 5 star wines at South Arica House (or whatever it's called) yesterday afternoon and tasted a wine that I immediately thought you'd like. I wrote "tell goosegogs" in the margin.

Durbanville Hills Biesjes Craal Sauvignon Blanc 2007 - £8.99 SA wines Online.

Smells of fresh figs - heady and dusty. Fresh, tangy acidity. Dry, and yet fruity, without anything sweet or confected. Very Good.
