Ice Lollies are served cold, and dire SB etcetera - I read that Billaud S says 9-11 degrees C. I'm running my white cooler at 9c.

That is a good result considering the kind of abuse the Co-Op and other stores subject a fine wine too. When it is on clearance, who knows what goes on ?

I was in Marks today and they had 6 x Chablis Fourchaume 1er 2008 right on the top shelf directly under the lighting, and they wanted £19. Why do this ? Merchandising skills are somewhat lacking.

The Co-Op lights were beating down on the wines I checked out when I last went - one bottle was warm. None of our burgundy bargains came out of optimum cool warehouse conditions. We've been lucky, and these B-S chablis 1ers, are resilient for sure.

A store I visit has just moved the £18 Ribera del Duero to the top shelf by the ceiling. Whilst not directly under lights they are now directly in line of the hot air being blown from the A/C units in the ceiling
The bottles are now almost warm to the touch. I advised a cashier that it would probably ruin the wine but by the look in her face I feel it has fallen on to deaf ears
I may visit again to advise the manager but fear it may be too late now
