I've been increasingly disappointed with relatively inexpensive, and not so inexpensive, champagnes. Are they being overproduced, with a consequent impact on flavour and quality?I've tried most of the normal makes over the years, and whereas Moet, for example used to have the rather creamy, vanilla flavour that I like, the last couple of bottles were essentially a pleasant sparkling wine, but no more. Others have been similarly disappointing. Any recommendations of a champagne that is worth having, but isn't so expensive as to have to save for special occasions?
