If anyone can face some real singing, I give you one 'elluva lass with a rendition of a Goethe poem set to music by Schubert (after several others had failed). It also works as a violin or piano solo. Fasten your seat belts...

My pc electrostats can't handle top mhz levels - The strings, well down are lovely and mellow, base Cello is deep.

It's a broard church in here.

There is anger as well as delight / or is it pleasure. Two parts are being sung, one with chastisement, or heavy complaint being delivered by the adult part. - I think. The other part, soft and attractive ?

The translation - for later possibly.
Ba, for classics, I hardly get past Turandot.

Mel may know some German

Extremely well interpreted Mr. D., brilliant in fact. Have three points.
It is a noire "fairy tale" of illness, demons, child marriage and death. You can google a translation.

As with all the great singers, there is an actor inside. When she sings sweet things, she is baby-sweet.
If she sings dancey things, she dances.
An almighty talent. Singing solo with a full orchestra is an awesome undertaking...and she won!!!
Damn, I cried yet again

A typical Eastenders plot then.

Another topical one from Tim

I'm not expecting big presents......they'll be drinking white wine in the sun

6-7" of Snow here, But Mr Goose has 2 feet ! Being fireside season, I enjoyed the last Berberana Vina Allarde Gran Reserva 2001 last night, my wine of the week last year or so. Excellent value, great vintage.

There is some bottle variance with these, they are ether..... quite good or damn good for the dosh

You come to Cardiff and you don't tell me and then you announce to the world that you're seeing another man.

And at Christmas too !

But Mr Goose has 2 feet !

Never seen a weekend like it. Not a single car did stir. No snow today or forecast here for next week but with temps so low I cannot see how the snow will melt.

For workers here Christmas hols start tomorrow.

How the birds cope in this is beyond me. I've seen species today in the garden that I didn't know existed and one little gogs is a member of the RSPB and he can't identify them.

I told him the RSPB must be rubbish then and we would cancel his membership.

Can't kids sulk !

I completed my wine storage solution the other night and I took the opportunity to take inventory of my stocks. I found I had one of these plus 2 of the 2002. Not had either for around 12 months and I can't remember what they were like. Seem to recall Majestic were practically giving them away when I purchased them. The staff seemed to think there was nothing in the the two vintages, even though '01 was considerably better as a rule for Rioja. Maybe I haven't tried them at all.
