Once again, with the 25% offer, loads of the cheaper wines were strangely out of stock. Today, the offer has ended, and - surprise - they are all back. Hmmmm.

Typical.

I perhaps missed this. Were all wines 25% off? Or was this the NZ and Spanish 25% offer?

In the upper middle rank, and focussing on interesting new world Pinot Noir wines, where some character has been disclosed in half decent reviews.

Oh Yuss..... This product is currently unavailable - may we suggest an alternative.

Look at the alternative...... No  Pinot lovers just don't want that one.

Trawl through them all again.

Email inbox, We havent seen you for a while......Free delivery this week ecetera, etcetera, check thru 2nd choices, they are unavailable now as well.

Full marks Tesco for savvy marketing operations.

I haven't checked whether these unavailable wines were available from 6:00 AM on day one.

Didn't buy anything in the end - Tesco has done me a favour. Wine stocks are controllable again

I have a voucher code for £10 off a case at tesco online if anyone wants it.

think its for just the one usage and it expires on 10th Oct.

personally I'm not going to be buying anything but would be silly to let it go to waste

There were some genuine good deals in store e.g Finest Old Vines Gaarnacha reduced to £5.24 and then subject to 25% discount when buying six bottles or more-I was late learning of the offer but managed to find 5 bottles at back of shelf in local metro Monday evening.

I grabbed 6xPoacher, 6x Dr L., 6x Cono S. Riesling, 6x Frex, 6x TF Alsace P. Gris and some Vina Sol. All good prices.

I wonder why Tesco never sold The Reach MSB 2009. I've been enjoying the 09 SB PN rose for £4.99 and bought some for £3.75 when they had the 25% off any 6

How does the Frex compare with Lindauer

There was a shed-load of sparkles on offer. Making room for the Xmas intake I guess. I chose the Frex especial '08 which I find drier than most. I don't have the ability to choose between all these Codornius & Frexes but this is fine at £6. I do like the Lindauer but it is a different animal.

Ba is fuffing polite these days ....are we going to tease Goose ? Completely different breeds

Frex reserve especial is I think.... Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada. Frex is very fizzy parrellada shampoo, But Ba chills it down so much, so as to stop him burping all night.

Lindauer reserve is I know..... Pinot noir and chardonnay

He meant quality to value

I should never of said fuffing....you're all at it now.

Cava is like lemonade without the sugar.....and the lemon.

Lindauer is class.

I just wondered which one the God of wine enjoyed the most. I have a friend who spends his life poncing about a Mayfair flat making stupid money on the markets and drinking a Frex. Sophisticated black bottle. ' Like liquid gold ' he babbles.

I try not to listen.

I'll listen to the bit about the stupid money. But for now, we'll find out from the one with a cast iron head.

Chalk & cheese. The cava is for swigging with crisps and TV. Also great when a bit "throatie". A really bland one gets a teaspoon of something floral to perk it up.
The Lindauer I would treat as an aperitif and savour it. Also as as a gift.

PS...may well be up to Ebbw this afternoon.
