A must try with a recent bottle of Chilean cab. (short corks in them ) A very short air space gap between the wine and the cork, otherwise you end up compressing the air gap for a nano second.

The shoe has to have a traditional heel. The wall needs to be very solid brickwork or concrete with a very flat plastered surface.

I suspect it works with brand new oxford brogues, or Eastern Euro clones.

Having tried several times I can confirm that it is possible to open a bottle of wine.... Just not sure if you can do it with a shoe. Mel send me a bottle with the kids and I'll let you know the result!!!
