If those prices are for cases of 6 I wouldn't bother. If they are for dozens then why not go for it.

Did you know that there is a VW Camper Van rallye going on in Malvern ?

I thought I'd got an advanced melanoma on my foot, I looked again, I'd trodden on a currant !

Richard, do you want them ?

The '01 is best for investment when in B. Castle capsules ?

Tell us what You think, much more entertaining than my speculation :) .

Breaking news 16:00 today, the large Hadron Collider is working

Snap, snap, snap. You presumably love brett. Was very disappointed with a recent vintage as it was clean and rather dull. Get as much wonderfully filthy Beaucastel while you can.

My opinion only.

Hi Richard,
appart from Mel you don't seemto have got a valid response to your question.
In terms of value I think you're saving about 7 pounds per bottle compared to the price offered at this place:http://www.imbibros.co.uk/1061

so there's a discount there but not ground breaking unless you're buying a case and saving 70 quid

the beaucastels both scored well on wine anorak's vertical tasting from 2004
and the wine doctor has nothing but praise for them especially the 2001:
http://www.thewinedoctor.com/tastingsprofile/beaucastel.shtml

if you got the cash to splash it sounds like these will definately float your boat so I'd say go for it mate.

(tho I'd personally reach for vega sicilia's 2004 alion in that price range but thats different wine all together and each to their own ;))

Ba, your response was invalid - seemed a perfectly reasonable opinion to me ! He doesn't do red of any description or otherwise.

Cheeky sod  Oui - I advised the 2001 if you don't mind ! Ok, I didn't bother to get it 2nd'ed "sous ce rapport", I know a few 01's...Huh ! Invalid indeed.

Ba, shall we do invalid ? It's the last time I'm giving the right answer. U R getting this stuff for 3 ya know.

I only know Cadoulet a little bit, which is jolly good.

Rich needs to decide, all the info is there. I want to know what he thinks of the taste of this wine, when he has a chance. Go to Cellar Tracker, there is mountains of it.

Yeah, I keep asking Rich the same Q.

I should like to hear about how one or two of his extra special prestige wines are tasting ?

Duncan,

Hi, sorry for lapsed response as I have no PC at home at present !!

Decided to leave these alone in the end, I have to much wine at present and I am over in France month end so will probably bring 20/30 bottles back.

I already have 93/94 & 96 Beaucastel in the cellar ready for my sons 21st birthdays.

Hope you enjoyed some decent wines over Easter ??
Pretty basic stuff for me nothing outstanding.

No sweat Rich.

Bringing back a LeClerk Marche haul is a better use of the cash 8) despite naf sterling.
The "acquisition process "of prestige wine buys can be very addictive. U could end up with a house full of grand vin, that nobody is enjoying just gathering dust. Then suddenly you have to find an excuse to open many of them, and no one is there to enjoy them with you ! - Or Worse Still, your guests don't like them, but havent got the heart to tell you.

A Mugs game. Well.... unless you're thinking of re-flogging them, when we come out of this deep hole.

Tell us about the experience of drinking one of your grand vins sometime.

Dunc,

You could be right about fine wine and no one to share them with !!

I only have 2 lots of friends who are into wine so I end up having more and more decent wine each year.
I cant drink decent wine on my own so prehaps I should slow down on mature and buy more every day quaffers ??

Next wine night is on the 24th I think, I will take a long a Ch La Lagune 1968 which is high on my list but dont expect much from it so anything will be a bonus !! It might be time for one of those Noel V too ??
Would like to try one of my HLC 95 as well so will decide which two to take plus my usual German Auslese producer..

Give me a nudge for reports etc late April
