Received this offer with my latest Amex bill.

Laithwaites Amex Offer

I don't really know much about laithwaites.

On the face of it looks quite good value, if you like spanish reds, and presuming half the case isn't utter rubbish. Anyone know if this is likely to be the case?

Cheers

L runs the Times wine club as well. They have a good rep, but I reckon you need to pick and choose. The pre-selected offers are a clearance sale. Be careful. I have had some real Merde from them.

Tribs,

The cork screw is wicked...... and also works.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

BTW, I will say this, they totally honour their word on picking up stuff and crediting what you don't like.

Tribs, bare in mind you are signing up to their wine club to take regular cases, although there is nothing stopping you cancelling after the first case.

This offer has been around for a few months, there is an Oz alternative, or there was when I received the offer.

I believe, Direct Wines may have bought out their customer base - we ought to check out the small print later. Wheels within wheels

Richard Branson always bails out just in time - no flies on 'im

As of June 2009 Virgin wines was owned by Direct Wines which is 100% owned by Tony Laithwaite, accordingto Decanter. http://www.decanter.com/archive/article.php?id=284055

I've not heard of it being sold by Direct

Yep Mr P,

As of June 2009 Virgin wines was owned by Direct Wines which is 100% owned by Tony Laithwaite, accordingto Decanter. I've not heard of it being sold by Direct

Mr & Mrs Laithwaite have acquired 100% of the share capital in DW ........

Venture capital outfits have their strategy.

Decanter print a glossy headline for sure.

If you want to know how, ....Go to Companies house web site and pay a small fee, and you might see how the finance was structured.
