As Im sure you're all aware, there are plenty of 'offers' on at the moment, online merchants are desperate to get their hands on your last minute Christmas orders. Not all the 'deals' are genuine though, I think there are better to come.

With time almost up on Christmas deliveries, the merchants will have the January sale promos loaded and ready to fire. This is where I think things are going to get interesting.

I've bought very little in the run-up to Christmas but I will be keeping a sharp eye out for genuine clearances bargains come Boxing Day as merchants fall over themselves trying to shift stock before the credit card bills drop and the double-dip recession kicks in (obviously we need to come out of this one before we can go back in )

I have a reserve of vouchers for Laithwites, M&S and Tesco and my Nectar points are plumped to go.

The Laithwaites vouchers were sent to me in the post, £10 off a case, £20 off two cases, plus free delivery. I thought everyone got these?

M&S are the gift cards, I got a total of £60 for my birthday. I havent looked to see if these can be used online but if not, instore will do for me too, I'll get to choose a mixed case.

The only thing Laith's would sent me would be a couple of very large guys in dark suits.

I remember an earlier vintage being a marvellous drop, I have a soft spot for the ripasso wines and their rich, burnt-plumy, nutty flavours. The '07 should be drinking lovely now and my wine rack is severely lacking Italian representation.

That uses up the last of my M&S credit, these work out at £4 a bottle delivered.

I have a voucher for my local independent, once spent there will be no more wine buying for me for a couple of months.
