I've been drinking Gerard Bertrand Grand Terroir Montpeyroux 2012 as recommended by Mark at Majestic, Berkshire store, and very good it is for the money. £6.99 bin-end (was £10.49)

Montpeyroux is a small region in the coteaux du Languedoc protégée. I am impressed with the old vine, hot galettes ( large flats stones) and garrique (wild and parched shrub herbs) terroir personality. It really comes through very well. A full and robust wine, that is not too dry, but only 13.5% alc, which is pretty impressive given the depth and ripeness.
A very good call from Mark.

Thanks for highlighting this wine - I notice it is for sale at this price as part of the Mix Six that Maj now offer.
Have soft spot for Montpeyroux wines - had a number of holidays in cottage on Larzac Plateau between Millau and Lodeve and we used to visit the Montpeyroux wine cooperative sometimes buying plastic containers of their basic wine to bring back to UK.I would highly reccomend this area to any Francophile.
