Ordered a mxd. doz. in the Tesco offer including 2 bottles of sham poo at a VERY good price.

Turned out that they were half bottles. Bah !

Pics on the site are out of proportion as they take a closer pic of the smaller bottles. Failed to read the small print though.

I did something similar with a T order, thought I'd got a decent NZ SB for a steal, turned out they were 500ml bottles. Still enjoyed them tho.

All ready for the big day? Its my 50th on Saturday, house party lined up, although I still havent treated myself to that 'big wine' yet, any suggestions? Was considering a Port, went through the same process on my 40th and discovered '69 offered slim pickings for a non-declared vintage, I dont expect that situation to have improved

Have a good one GK...Santas day for me. If the weather is decent, could be the biggest yet (800 bikes perhaps).

Happy birthday for Saturday G.
I reckon with your palate, port world be the best shout. Not sure how much we’d enjoy a 50yo red, at least one within our possible price range (imagine you have to go big named stuff to find something still enjoyable)
69 was apparently a good year in burgundy and Rhône but surely a lot of the fruit will have faded in many non fortified wines ?

Thanks chaps.

I think I will swerve the vintage stuff and treat myself to something top-shelf, my local Independent has some interesting juice from Ochota, Ata Rangi and Ruggabellus, plus some excellent Mosel, I feel a mix of six should do it. Where do the years go, eh? My daughter is 18yo now, I remember being in the operating theater like it was last week, when she got lifted out the sun-roof due to complications and proceeded to scream the place down. She hasn't shut up since
