The naked MD has suddenly become CEO of Majestic 10th April 2015
IMHO, shareholders may have been well advised to have rejected the acquisition. But with no new CEO in the wings for the old holding company ! Board choices start to evaporate. I'm not sure of Rowan Gormley's claim that he's got 300k online repeat customers. Many Naked customers were once considered a hyped niche, however as a matter to consider -how much was it worth ? Does their investment offer lock them on ? Whilst Majestic's 630k customers have been loyal for a very long time, loyal to quality as well as price. Majestic have deep tangible stock, but probably too many retail stores / outlets.
Naked had no where to go in the end, were they losing ground ? Social media does not sell wine in the long term. Well . . . . I don't think so, but then again, many purchases are commercial rubbish these days, so What Do I know ? I do believe that Majestic was losing focus on elements of its core business in its pursuit of volume.
If I was a Majestic shareholder, I may be selling when the hype is high / topping out. . Shares up 42p since hearing the news on Friday morning. Therefore, follow the charts, and we'll see what transpires. Hitherto, Majestic shares had been on a slow and slightly painful decline.
