Antony Rose, Indy, Saturday 6th DecemberI dropped into Lidl today to check-out the new offers:
I was quite impressed with perceived QPR - But I have yet to try the wines that I bought. More comments later. Sorry. I did not see the 2009 Château des Carabins, Margaux, £14.99 it may never have been in my store !
Amongst other things, the prices have been chipped to counter the 25% off six that around at the moment.
A generic St Emilion grand cru 2012 "regional gold medal for '12" from the union of StE producers was £8.99
The Comte de Senneval Champagne Brut NV was £9.99 this time, and I liked it's yeasty lees character last time, see Mel's articles.
A Serabel Cotes du Rhone villages 2012 was £5.49 - (the Serabel Vacqueras '12 was decent)
and 2nd wine of Chateau Cantemerle, 'Les Allees' 2010, was £13.49
I bought a modest couple of each and one Cantemerle. I will post a comment on the St Emilion 1st. I have not tried any 2012 right bank clarets yet, none.
Here's hoping. . . . . .
