There's a mix up at Asda and Maj with VM Wairau and Clifford Bay with both being sold as Wairau on shelves.

Thanks, I've just had a look-in at Majestic. . . . . not in the store though.

There has been some dumbing-down, shabby IT on the VM Reserve wine descriptions at Majestic.

They are selling a description of a Villa Maria reserve MSB that they say is from various plots in the Wairau valley for £14.99 less 25% = £11.24 When you zoom in on the bottle pic on their website, you will see Clifford Bay in italics on the bottom of the label. Looks like the VM CB and is / was the same RRP as Clifford Bay at Sainsbury superstores.

Their other description is Villa Maria single vineyard MSB that they say is from a single vineyard of old clay soils, and is £16.99 less 25% = £12.74. When you zoom in on the bottle pic on their website, you will see Graham vineyard in italics on the bottom of the label. This is the same RRP as / was Taylors Pass. Having said that, I've seen VM TP for £17.99

I do not see the Villa Maria reserve Wairau Valley wine on their website just now. The RRP for this wine may have moved up recently from £12.99 to £13.99 for the 2013 vintage.

I don't think customers are getting the superior Clifford Bay at the old Wairau Valley prices and then the discount deducted.

This needs to be checked out though, since VM CB could be had for £10.49 ! if there is a till cock-up with unsold WV reserve store stock. Perhaps the 75p is going the other way !

Anybody got the low-down at Asda just now ?
