Laboure'-Roi are not the brightest buttons in the box, but it's usually cheap for a village burgundy.

Nevertheless, you'd believe that 2005 village pinot noir would hold for a while, since this vintage is the longest holding of the village burgundies for many decades. Not so with L-R ! I regret to say, so if you have any of their recent village burgundies on the white L-R label, drink up in 3-4 years, for the 2011 GC, make sure you get a massive discount - or avoid.

Probably the most disappointing Burgundy this last two years. It's all downhill with their wine making skills & style, from 2009 it was satisfactory for a light lunch; But now, fruit nearly all gone, skinny and no secondary development either, not even a tiny bit of sediment to prove some life existed, a dead duck. Fortunately I did get 25% off in 2008 when bought, when I should have drunk it all the following summer, one bottle left.

On the back label it says: Good aging up to 10 years I bet they stuck the same nonsense on the 2006 ! - Duh.

Labouré-Roi owe me a cheque, can I find the credit card receipt ?
