** Comte de Senneval Champagne Brut NV £9.99

The ticket says £12.99 but apparently it’s going to be £9.99 from 28/7/14. Quite a deep, slightly pinkish colour. Creamy, bready aroma. Very bready taste. Really full-flavoured and savoury. Delicious.

This ** champagne is in the stores now. A large stock of boxes were stacked up in the store I went to last night.
The price there was £11.99, so I think regional prices are decided by the regional director.

I was quite impressed with the offer and the claret display, an old world French feel, dark wood boxes displayed at an angle of 20 degrees to the horizontal, so keeping the corks moist, and well away from any heat, and the sun. Somebody knows what they should be doing.

Just in case my post is buried by off topic contributions, I've repeated it here: Sub £15 claret stocks were moving fast, or OOS. The web publications and newspaper reports are working for Lidl.

Those looking for Mel's pictured bargains will soon find out that wine lovers (may be, in your neck of the woods) could have picked some, not all, of the stocks of these already. I did find others that I favoured for a safe gamble, so made up a dozen, with an extra £1 off per bottle when buying any multiples of four French wines, per till receipt"wine carrier redemption" they say

I found the following wines and noting Mel's advice where they were available, I picked:

2 x Chateau Mauras 2010 Sauternes 50cl £6.99 (a useful size & a good vintage) not in the article.
1 x Graves 2011 Ch. Gale's £7.99 rouge, not in article.
2 x Ch. Haut Chaigneau Lalande de Pomerol 2009 £14.99 (I wanted the opulent vintage) only 2 left
3 x Mercurey 2012 rouge, that's pictured in the article.
1 x De Senneval, Champagne, also pictured
2 x Hautes Cotes de Beaune blanc - pictured
1 x Serabel, Vacqueyras '12 - recommended.

Sadly, the Monbazillac and Ch.Venus, Graves '12 were OOS, as well as the '03 'Pessac Leognan on Mel's TN', and the bargain (despite one CT dud), a ripe Ch. Barthez '09 Haut-Medoc £7.99 multi buy, and not in the article. Savvy shoppers had beat me to it.

Quite pleased I paid a visit yesterday, 17th September, sorry to have missed some sub tenner bargains. Please note though, stores are not re-stocking, all the decided allocations are on the shop floor, I've checked with the manager. I don't think they have the logistics to move them around again. The continental sized delivery trucks are unbranded.
