The 2014 Villa Maria PB is easy to buy. Not so easy to drink based on past experiences. I am sure they add Semillon to get that rich custardy note.

The Ned 2014 is reportedly back to how it was in 2012. Strong boxwood note on the end of some Pioneer Block 19 style grapefruit. The 2013 Ned was awful.

I am loving Thatcher's Gold but I just realised that the calories per pint are 220 with 24.5g of sugar. Not sure how much of that sugar is natural apple sugar and how much is shity white sugar.

Either way...too much. Shame because they were an easy drinking alternative to the filling cask ales and lager. The 4% lagers* are quite nice but the alcohol doesn't touch you. The 5%ers taste of alcohol.

* I actually quite liked Coors Light with it's biscuity flavours

Goose,
Have you tried M&S Southwold winter IPA made by Adnams ?
Tried this last night with a curry as it was part of a gift set for Father's Day
I liked it a lot. Fruity, hoppy with grapefruit bitterness on the finish
I know GK is a fan of some of the M&S ales. Have you give any a go?

I've had a few from Marks. Their Cornish IPA which they sell in their café sounds very similar. High alc at about 5% with a strong grapefruit and plain chocolate bitterness.

I have also tried their single hop ales. Brewers Gold was stunning. Sovereign was foul. Not skunked just very unpleasant.

The Southwold IPA is a bit of a beast at 6.7%
