Post subject: | Medoc '09 & '10 -Claret Prices have been Rising steadily |
This spring we have seen a rise in 2009 & 2010 Claret Prices, The UK Budget Wine import duty escalator has been implemented, and the '09's in particular are drinking well already. Will they fall back in the Summer or this Autumn at CB level ? Very unlikely. Only the dross will remain at this price point. The jury is out as to whether the 2010 vintage will ultimately be superior to the '09's in the Medoc. However we are not concerned with classed growths. I'm more intune with quaffing Cru Bourgeois wines which offer a lot of pleasure for a reasonable premium. I've looked arround. If you are topping up your quaffing claret stocks, for drinking next year or so, you could do a lot worse than this: Chateau Liversan Haut Medoc '10 from Waitrose in singles at £12.99, or for the savvy buyer, stock up from Ocado at less 25% this week. If your order is over £50 gross, take advantage of a 15% voucher. If your email voucher has expired, another one will arrive tomorrow - me thinks You can then top-up at £8.28 per bottle before delivery. Delivery charges have changed: Ocado delivery prices have gone up for orders of less that £75, however a search of the slots available, can reveal a charge of £2.99. £2.99 is currently the lowest del. charge obtainable from Ocado on sub £75 purchases. For over £75, slots can be FOC or 99p if a delivery van is in your territory on the day. |
