Was struggling to get to six bottles in Tesco for the 25% discount so chucked in a bottle of Tesco Finest Fino Sherry having read numerous times that served chilled this is what to drink with tapas.

Very impressed, achingly dry with lemony, nutty flavours and a salty undertone - great accompaniment to nuts and olives.

There's also a Manzanilla and Dry Oloroso in the same range which looked to be worth a try.

The downside is that unlike your Gran's bottle of sherry this stuff needs to treated like a white wine and drank within 3-4 days, which is presumably why Tesco sell this range in 50cl bottles. The upside being it's not too alcoholic at 15% and more than stands up to the wife's tortilla chips, which normally render an expensive bottle of white tasteless.

Preaching to the converted. Go to Waitrose and get the Apostoles Palo Cortado or get (by any method - sell small children if necessary) Fernando de Castilla Antique Fino or Amontillado. They change the tilt of the world. You'll never look back.

...Or Tescos too when next 25% off 6 comes around

Mel I've noticed this went up in price at the beginning of the year, used to be £16.99, now £19.10...
