Richard - That is an eclectic array of wines, a very few of which have I tried. There are some 925 wines now, that I should try, before I die. I have Neil Beckett's book of a 1000. A good book for the wine lover, well edited Dont forget, I only have some knowledge of french wines from say Puyloubier in the south to the Loire in the north. For Spain, I know some Riojas and Navaras, and some fortified from Andalusia and a few from the country inland behind Alicante. The Graham '85 Port I have tried, but not bought - Very good. That Nuits St Georges climat is not known to me, Rion though, is a very respected producer, so should be good. What do I know ? Les Damodes and Les Poulettes, Terre Blanches, Boudots - there are loads of them, and they are jolly expensive.. The CVNE Imperial Reserva 2001 is a good rioja, and I have enjoyed that in Spain last time. The Uva Mira wines are quite respected, but I've never tried any of their red blends either. They should be coming down in price - money is tight in Europe, so I may try a red blend, but not their syrah / bordeaux mix. I prefer the claret clones for flavour (but I'm not a stick in the mud) ![]() The Joseph Drouhin Oregon pinot noir would be of significant interest to me - you must say how it was. Also the 1999 CO pinot noir, how developed was that ? (but not on your table) You get the chateau Pierre-Bise chenin which is supposed to be quite special Enjoy your evening, a great way of tasting many special wines. |

Dunc, Will take a few notes and report back. If there is one wine you have to try its the UVA Chardonnay single estate. I have only had the 2009 and was probably the finest Chard I have had for the last 4 years. I hope the 2010 is equal or better !! I have asked for a small pour from the other table already. |
